Adrian George was a British artist and travel writer and stamp designer born in 1944. He was educated at Harrow Art School and The Royal College of Art. 

Working between studios in London and Paris, his art was exhibited worldwide from 1970 onwards. His work is held in the collections of H.M. the Queen, The Vatican, The National Portrait Gallery, The V&A Gallery, The Royal College of Art and private collections around the world.

Many of the 20th Century's leading cultural figures—Peter Sellers, Germaine Greer, Lord Boothby, Mary Quant, Sir William Golding, Sir Arthur C Clarke and more—sat to be portrayed in his distinctive classical style. 

He died at home in his Kensington studio in May 2021.
